As others have said, don't sell your PC, you can do a lot with it rather than just games. Without a doubt get a PS3 though, as soon as you get a console I've no doubt you'll start enjoying games now without worrying about settings or frame rates. I've had both consoles since around release and I've been updating my PC a lot less, I only really need the power for photo/video stuff now. No chance I'd get rid of either console until they're updated.

I bought a PS3 last june. It was an impulse buy because I happend to walk in a high-street shop selling them for £200 which was very cheap at the time. I love it, no regrets at all. I've finished loads of games on it in that time. I'd say get one and keep your PC as well. It's not like you have a stupidly expensive PC with 2x 5870s or a 5970 in. There's loads of console only games and PS3 only games that make it worth owning along side a PC.

I know what you mean about GTA. I started GTA4 on the PC (had a dual core then) got fed up with trying to make it run better. Got in on the PS3 and finished it. I just enjoyed it more even though it doesn't look as good.

I used to play PC games but in all honesty, my PS3 has been a worthy purchase..I only used to play counter-strike source anyway and it only takes a bit of getting used to for FPS. Can't beat a game of Fifa on the ps3 though :) Might all depend on what games you prefer to play though

Most retarded thing I've ever heard.

Well yeah it is a bit retarded yes :D

But in all honesty ive got loads of games, and ive not completed one of them because most of the time if i back up the same game file and try and re-store it later after a OS format it never bloody works eg..GTA IV

So i just gave up.

See its a family pc too...so sometimes someone downloads something (virus) or it gets messed up and i have to re-install my OS :/

Rarely nessacary to re-install. Just run avg free, and malwarebytes a few times a month catches most stuff. Also use firefox instead of IE, alongside telling your family to stop clicking on links to free sex/money/viagra/whatever.

I'am suprised your save games don't work, always work for me. Sometimes takes a 5 min google if I get a problem but soon sorted.

And btw. Get a ps3, but keep the pc too. PS3's have loads of good games, but the multiplayer side is well a bit crap tbh compared to dedicated servers and keyboard and mouse with pc. It works absolutely fine, it just isn't great. Steam also beats the crap out of psn.
