This was last night's dinner. As usual, please excuse the awful photography!

Chicken Ballotine, Chard, Woodland Mushrooms, Potato Fondant, Chicken and Tarragon Consome

Excuse the fondant, I don't have cutters anymore so I don't even bother trying to make them cylindrical!

Beef a bit well done for my liking, but the roasters look crunchy af, and the broccoli perfect. I'd devour that!

If i'm honest, the crackling wasn't that great. Some of it was crunchy, but a lot of it was like leather. Even cut it off and put it back in the oven separately, but that didn't seem to make any difference. Oh well, maybe i'll crack it one day

It looks like it has been made with whole black peppercorns, which is a bit odd. Not what I'd do, buy hey - we're all different.

Agreed re the peppercorn sauce - it was a new tub and they all fell in when OH was trying to get a couple out. Sauce was still lovely though - just had to push the peppercorns out of the way!

I planned and cooked a meal for Mother's Day on Sunday.

Starter: Beetroot with rocket, goats cheese and pine nuts.

Main: Roasted pork belly, celeriac and potato mash, miso aubergine, vichy carrots

Cheese!

Dessert: Poached pears with almond cake and vanilla icecream
