Ford Cosworths are some of the most legendary cars ever. It's a shame that they don't make them anymore. The new focus ST looks good, but these amazing sierras are in a whole new league.

I like Cossie's. They are old skool, fast and make a lovely noise they make but tbh I wouldnt pay over £18K for the one posted in the first post.

Yea it might have 405BHp and be clean as hell but I wouldnt pay that much for it.

You have to consider its the practical equivalent of buying an almost brand new sierra cosworth, its definitely worth what hes asking

reserve still not met at £18,700. I can think of a lot of cars id rather have than that. I appriciate the effort that has gone into making it what it is, but > £18.5k for it? nope.

Sorry, but that's utterly gay. Why build a 400bhp Cossie, then just ponce about making it spotless, rather than driving the thing?

I want to take it for a good caning on a track and rape it till it begs for mercy. Then take it down some muddy lanes and give it back to the owner covered in ****.

Look carefully and you'll see why. It has Eagle F1's, so if he attempts to corner at more than 3mph, the cheese based sidewalls will apparently explode and kill kittens everywhere.

Thus, he is forced to just clean it.

That's fair enough, but why give it 400bhp if that power is never going to be used

Just so he can say 'it has 400bhp'?

Gay.

but its a cossie :(

Don't get me wrong, it's a great car. I love cossies. But they deserve to be driven, hard.

Especially when they've been given 400bhp, for no apparent reason in this case.

The wing was only a removable option on the Escort Cosworth - it was like it or lump it on the Sierra. Ford tried loads of wing variations before settling on that one as the best compromise between downforce, drag and suiting the lines of the car.
I can see where Drex is coming from - it's nice to have some preserved like museum pieces, but they should be left stock. There's little point doubling the power of a car you're too afraid to use.

You owe me a new keyboard :D

I can see both points of view - the owner is obviously into the concours side of things, which is fine (i think spending a day cleaning mine is excessive so the "week long" prep thing does not appeal). It is immaculate, but i'm with Drexel: that would be thrashed to within an inch of its life within an hour of me getting my hands on it. :p

It's not that I'm against the whole concours thing. Not my thing, but I do kind of get it.

What I don't get is giving a car 400bhp, huge AP brakes and Coilover suspension when it's going to spend it's whole life being polished and showed.

The poor thing, it's literally begging to be spanked round a track :(

To be fair, isn't it possible that he does drive it hard and then spends a week saying 'hail mary's and cleaning it with a toothbrush and a cotton bud? :p

If he does indeed drive it like god intended then I take back all I say and congratulate him on building an awesome car.

It does appear that he's a bufty though, the mirror under the car picture definately suggests that.
