Hi all,

I'm trying to copy a backup DVD of old work to our NAS at work and it's taking faaaaaaar too long.

It's a standard DVD (4.7Gb) and Vista is telling me it's going to take 2 hours and 20 minutes to copy over our Gigabit network. Is that right?

If that's slow, is there any way I can spot the bottle neck?

even though youve probably finished this now,

try a program called Teracopy, it sped up my transfer of 36gb to about 6 minutes, from 3 hours 15 mins. The problem could also be the read speed of the DVD device. Rememeber, the files can only be written as fast as they are read
