I want me one of those! cant imagine it will be very stable since they rock about with the standard engine :S
That sounds so good. It looks like its hammering the other cars. Sounds simply fantastic. Would love it in a roadster.
The sounds good but with it being a new engine more powerful i wonder if it will fall over around the bends.
sounds fantastic...but i couldnt help but laugh, there is something funny about seeing a small car like that belt it down the straight Tom.
I'm actually a fan of the Smart car, I couple of guys at work have them for commuting and I was amazed but the size/comfort of the cabin for a car so small. I keep telling them to get a gsxr engine dropped in but none of them are having it.
thats wicked. does anyone have an idea of how much that would actually cost to put into a roadster??? i really like the roadster but it could do with a bit more power. i saw one with 2x 600cc turbos in it i think it was, was on topgear, had like 300bhp if i remember correctly if im wrong can someone correct me on what engines were in it cheers
0-60 in 4.2 seconds, 1/4 mile in 12.4 seconds and tops out at 132mph. More Here: http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2005/06/08/smart-car-plus-gsxr-equals-smartuki-a-very-smart-car it was some company that is known for tuning mercs that did the v6 roadster thing wasent it? was verry nice but waaay over priced iirc. bike engines all the way for me
2 standard 3 cylinder smart turbo engines joined together in a V shape to make a twin turbo V6 with 170bhp (and all from only 1400cc ). Shame that they only built a few specials and didnt put it into full scale production, it would have sold by the truck load (I'd definetly have bought one). A great car destroyed by too little power and too high a price .
agree with mechanicle arts on the westfeild idea. /waits for the "yeah but u crash it ** dead" posts... did anyone else see the vid of a smart into a concrete wall at 70? will try find it
why the hell did it star out **, lol edit - LMFAO, honestly why? the letters u and r, bad english know but still. your then.
Car may have held up, but the impact force of it not crumpling would be transferred to your body. So not as safe as youd expect. But I certainly would be worried about safety in it tbh.
haha, while looking for the vid i foud this and must say its one of the funnyest cars i have seen drift! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4005015253817089951&q=smart+car Dan - flooding this thread
