Depends on the resolution as well.
For example going to 16gbs on mine at 4k yields around 5-10% depending on the game.
Power consumption goes up roughly the same as well however.
That's an under exaggeration on your part, it's higher than that. 5% sounds right

That's your problem you don't actually check.
I took the trouble to check yesterday and got a figure of 2.86% going from 14 Gbps to 16 Gbps. My cards use Samsung memory so no problems there.
Perhaps other people can post some benchmarks showing how they have got on with overclocking just the memory to 16 Gbps. If possible try and use as high a resolution as possible to rule out other factors. I used 2160p yesterday.

I think that's a bit much, those are completely different. The 980 Ti/1080 Ti were a ~20% upgrade from the non Ti .

The only people who will/should buy these are very rich and have suddenly realised they immediately want to get into PC gaming and cost be damned.
I cannot see any other rational buying scenario.

Yes but for a very good reason I guess. I paid £699 for my 1080Ti and I think £549 for the 1080 before it.
1080Ti was an nvidia mistake for being too damn powerful. It ended up being 30-40% or more over a normal 1080 for not much more money and in the end when I sold my 1080Ti I actually made £50. Don’t think I’ll be so lucky this time around though
although I haven’t felt the need for anymore power yet either.
