condoms are for single men, if you go out with someone for 2 years there should be enough trust and usually the women uses the pill.
tbh, when me and cazzz started going out I got checked, I wanted to make sure I was clean.
I think that if you're realy in for the long term its the only way.

of course she should have, if a man did this to a woman he would probably rot in jail for 30 years.
i hate the way you have made that assumption
so the law is softer on women when it comes to murder? i don't think so
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/3826815.stm
apparently not
it's classed as biological bodily harm, not murder or manslaughter, hence the short sentences
and he hasn't (as far as i'm aware) even gone to jail

i thought you said this isn't a murder? although it probably should be classed as close to it.

that's because he hasn't been sentenced yet..
2 years ago dude, news dryed up on this then

[edit]
A man with HIV who infected his lover with the virus after persuading her to have unprotected sex has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.[/edit]

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4375793.stm

4 years or so.

so that's different then, although he really should be sentenced for at least a few years no doubt about it.
Ok so I was wrong then, about a man would get 30 years, I thought it would be classed as equivalent to murder. The law seems wrong on this giving such short sentences.

to be honest with you, after reading all of these articles in depth, and talking to jasper, he has changed my opinion (on my original post)

i was viewing this from a purely risk taking point of view

if a drug addict injected themselves with a dirty needle - and contracts HIV, there is no blame to apportion, as the risk was their own

unprotected sex - always the risk of STI's, STD's and it should be both partners responsibility to look after themselves

if i cross the road, i am taking a risk that i may get hit by a car
if a car speeds up and intentionally hits me, he is guilty of murder
because he INTENDED to hit me

and that is what she has done
he took the risk *but* she intentionally put him in danger
and in a 2 year relationship, not just a 1 night stand?
that's awful.

i guess my more informed opinion is a bit more realistic

I'm sure I read something a while ago that said if you know you have aids/hiv and set out to sleep with people without telling them it's technically manslaughter.

in ElRazur's defence...i used to know a girl who's mum didn't use tampons because she thought she wouldn't be able to pee with it in. i swear that's the absolute truth.
