Okay, Im getting really cheap now lol.

French Press coffee makers, They any good? I've been told they leave oils, etc in the coffee, but i've also been told that is infact a good thing!! I spotted one in tesco for £15 and was think of just getting one. I intend on getting a grinder and beans, and then using the french press.

There's no reason that wont make an awesome cup of coffee is there?

French press is one of the easiest ways to make coffee. It's also the one I find the hardest to get consistently right. Oils are good though, but not essential.

I'd rather use the Aeropress or a filter cone. Much easier. Aeropress can also be used with french press grind to get something very similar to using a french press.

Bit of a necrobump, But I'm looking at buying and making proper coffee, Is the Aeropress mentioned in this thread still the Bee's Knees?

And you didn't think to post in the legendary 'Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread' ? tut tut :p . The Aeropress is awesome. The easiest way of producing incredibly good Coffee (and the cheapest). Follow the Hasbean guide :)
