Any recommendations. My wireless headset is pretty naff and ive heard that usb ones are easy to use plus the not needing batteries thing is always a + thanks in advance guys
I use a Plantronics set, not sure the specific model I have is available any more but they come with a usb dongle separate to the headset itself so if the headset breaks you can just buy any old headset with 3.5mm jacks and away you go again.
Cheers mate just looking at one of these. Id been previously pointed towards a microsoft one but id of felt a bit cheeky using an ms headset on my ps3. thanks again though
Official Sony one is very good. Excellent sound quality and having it on the supplied dock as an open mike is a very cool feature.
question: with a headset on PS3 can i speak to a friend ingame on our own coms channel or does it only broadcast voice coms to our whole team?
Nope. This is only possible over Xbox Live for the time being. Sony keep saying they will add this feature and also cross game invites, but im not holding my breath.
so i take it its over the team channel then **** then ill have to make my pal buy a netbook and use TS or something. cant believe Sony havent got this feature.
Something to do with EA games not being able to have cross game chat. Sony have said they want the feature but at this time its not possible.
Just wanted to ask, do these vantage usb headsets have mute without disconnecting the mic (hate it when volume comes back through the TV on bluetooth) and volume adjust?
You can get the Bluetooth Logitech Vantage for £17.99 on line instead of the usb and not be bound by cables.
You can get the official Sony one for £18 if you search around. Some of the guys I talk to online have terrible microphones. Half of the time I cannot understand a word they're saying
Sorry for the thread hijack but would a Creative Gaming USB headset work on the PS3? I'm just not sure how fussy the console is about headsets
But still not as good as a wired one which is what the OP wanted. Sony headset is OK, prefer my Vantage USB one though.
