    Hi all,

I am having a "discussion" with my friend about how best to set up his TV/film watching in his house having recently run network cable between each room.

    I would appreciate your opinions:

He wants to have two televisions/monitors (in two different rooms) each with independent Freeview tuner (i.e. driven by PC).

He wants to have DVR (buffering live TV etc) and two additional Freevier tuners for recording TV (so 4 tuners in total). He wants the recorded shows from either room.

He also wants an additional set of speakers for stereo audio only in a third room.

He wants to do this all through one machine running XMBC in Linux. The machine would be in neither of the three rooms, but in a cupboard under the stairs.

Thoughts? Do you think this is viable or do you think there's another way to achieve the above?

I think setting up all this on one PC is going to be difficult, not impossible, but just a lot harder than using separate devices and a shared network drive.

Yes he does. Why, what were you going to suggest?
