Spec me an upgrade

Thanks in advance for any help. I was lucky enough to get a 3080fe in the drop last week but I feel that the core of the rest of my system isn’t up to scratch now! My PSU, case and CPU cooler situation should be okay so the things I’d like to upgrade are:
CPU, motherboard, memory

I could be tempted to spend from £400-£700 depending on the value. Any advice appreciated.

I game at 1440p. Currently on a Ryzen 1700 system - I’ll keep this as a back-up.

What motherboard do you have could drop in a 5600x or 5800x ?

Current ram speed ?

The most cost effective upgrade would be a drop in 3000 or 5000 series depending on what your current motherboard supports.

Okey dokey - apologies for the delay in updating this thread. I've just dug out my motherboard info - it's an Asus Prime X370-Pro. A quick search looks like it will support the 3000 series Ryzen CPUs but can't see anything about 5000 series ones.

Save the cash and do an AM5 upgrade next year but in the mean time stick an offer in of £160 for this.
