Horrendous value for money these days, due to their rarity etc. Good buy back when they were £4K! (rock bottom) Glad someone pointed this out!
A Hayward and Scott exhaust system too! I had one of those on mine, sounded like a NASCAR at full power!
I would love a Passat W8 manual, would be a great sleeper... Could put electric exhaust cutouts on it to really confuse people.
Because for 15k you'll only get a ropy one. If he was spending 20k I'd have considered it the obvious choice.

W204 C63. 15K gets you a pre facelift one though and interior looks quite dated on the pre 2012 models. Closer to 20K will easily get you a reasonable facelift one. Engine is probably one of the most reliable you will get in this budget for V8's and servicing is very reasonable. Consumables likewise are fairly cheap for non power performance package cars. As an example, as I use mine as a daily I was happy with running 18s for comfort and have just done both front tyres (Michelin PS4) for £100 each. Challenge will be finding a low owner and non abused one. Plenty of mods if you're that way inclined and a simple remap to 500+ horsepower though mine is still factory standard.
Barely. I had a quick look on Autotrader and the cheapest one was still over £15K. There are three on eBay for under £15K, one with over 110K miles, there's one for £14K with 7X,000 miles which looks like it might be worth a look though. 2009.
@Acme yes actually you're right. I was expecting the prefacelifts to be close to 15k now. I've known a couple that traded hands on private sales for close to that last year.
