    Hi folks,

I'm tired of my big old tower case, it's slow and sounds like a jet engine, I want something small, fairly powerful (I'm not worried about gaming) and quiet. It's mainly to act a media server and I want to install a flavour of linux (not sure which one yet). This is what I've got, having been out of the game for some time have I forgotten anything?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Hi Paul do you need an optical drive? you'll need a slimline one plus adapter
If you want a little bit more info have a read of section 3 of this thread, unless youre going to be doing encoding etc Id stick with a dual core cpu myself, lower power consumption and lower heat production

I've found the slimline drives, but can't find the IDE to SATA converter cables?

Oke doke, here's an update. I think the optical drive is correct? At least it is with the cable you pointed me towards.

No, as I said above that optical drive is laptop IDE, so it won't work.

My SG05 came with and IDE -> SATA backplate converter so he should be OK with it.
