Alexis was down to 6 months left on his contract though, we'd never have got £30-40m for him by that point. The issue wasn't swapping him for Mkhitarayan, it was the fact we didn't cash in earlier. In the summer MC supposedly offered £55m for him and we should've taken that if he wasn't signing a new deal.

I don’t know the guys name, he’s always on there though. Seemed pretty confident a bid was on its way.
