Work is boring me to tears so I may pop on the server for a bit - I will likely not chat much and may need around though as, y'know, I'm in work

Question, I didn't really like Terraria but I want to give this a chance/my support. What extra does it add compared to Terraria? Is this basically a Terraria 2?

I assumed it would be a lot more like Terraria than it is. Although it shares many similar concepts it feels really different and I think once the storyline and quests are in properly it will be an awesome game in it's own right rather than falling under the shadow of Terraria.

I decided that I'd geared up enough last night to do the Beacon. Copper armour and an Iron Hunting Bow? Christ was I wrong...

Apparently the Starbound server went down at the same time too. If only sorting out the work prod system was as simple as screen ./starbound_server

Played for a few hours last night. I never really got into terraria but for some reason this is really addictive

I'll give the server a go later. Should be fun!

There's an update out so I'm bringing down the server to apply it. Unfortunately as I now have the updated version I can't connect to the server to let people know. Apologies for the lack of warning.

I really enjoyed Terraria but I think this definitely has the potential to be a lot better.

I really love the effects on gravel/fine sand when they collapse. Had a hilarious death caused by it last night. Gravel lined passage way, mined some gravel above me, that caused the rest of it to collapse onto the bit I was stood on.... which then collapsed and I plummeted down about 3 screens worth in the dark and hit the ground hard ^^

What's the lowest specs that people have played for this game?

It's not optimized yet but they said they were making it to run on low end PC's. Dual core, 2GB RAM should be fine I think but not sure.
