I have done like 45 hours of lessons to get to my test level way more than you guys

28 lessons (inc. final with test) at £16 each - £448
Test - £42
Theory test - £20
Car ('78 Triumph Dolomite, OTR) - £1400
Insurance (TPF&T) - £1800

Fully taxed & tested anyway

Total - £3710

2 years of safe, reliable motoring? Priceless

Looking to spend £5k on a car, and around £2k on insurance.

Then you sir, are most probably being stringed along by your instructor!

I notice that quite a few people are having a lot more lessons than usual, average for my mates was about 15 to 22 i think. One mate did it in 12 but he had a car during his learning and drove everywhere in it.

Ah yes - good call on the costs of the provisional there. Then you have to pay for the full one too! Shocking!

well I have had close to zero driving outside of lessons so maybe that is it, but I only have 4 more lessons till my test
