Only recently installed Steam (this week) and when I went to fire up steam today NOD32 flagged the exe (which runs as a service) as a virus....

Obviously a little concerned as to how I would have picked this up (assuming it's not a false positive) as the steam installer was downloaded from the official site and I'm careful about sites I visit etc.

    Anyone else experienced this?

i guess you are running xp? that would explain why you don't have it.

    on vista/7 it's a genuine file. :)

Some versions of Kaspersky (incorrectly) flag this as well.

Ok thanks for putting my mind at rest, I had deleted the service but I'll let steam re-install it again.
