Hi, I have here a Toshiba Satellite U500, windows 7 64 bit, connected to a thomson wireless router.

when I connect wirelessly, with full signal, I can ping www.google.com but there's no internet access from any browsers (IE, firefox) or programs (skype).

If I connect with ethernet, the internet works fine. So this is doesn't look like a firewall issue.

I have tried:
Uninstalling Norton Security, and only using windows firewall.
Update the wireless driver
turn ipv6 off for the wireless card.
remove the wireless network and re-add it.
Disable all IE proxy settings (nothing ticked in the connections box)
disable "allow computer to power down" for the wireless card.

anyone have any other suggestions? I'm very close to jsut buying an external usb wireless card to fix this issue.
