Streaming vs HDMI

Here is my situation. My gaming PC is located in the dining room and is connected to the internet via power line adapters .

The broadband router is in the living room along with my Samsung 50" 4k TV.

I like to occasionally play games from the comfort of my sofa and do this by using the "built in" Steam Link App on my Samsung TV, this is adequate but obviously not ideal. So I am considering my options.

I am thinking about pulling the floorboards and running an ethernet cable from the router to the PC anyway. Would this be enough to improve the quality of the streaming? I would like to get the best out of my 4k TV and so am thinking about running a HDMI cable from the TV to the PC under the floorboards as well. The distance from the TV to the PC is no more than 5 metres under the floor so would I be able to get a HDMI cable that long that is suitable for displaying my games in glorious 4k? Or should I persist with Steam Link?

100% get a HDMI.

Steam links need to be wired or will not work very well at all.

Iirc HDMIs top out around 15m so you will be fine. I use a 10m one in my lounge and about half of it is rolled up. Works fine.
