Howdy Chaps

Just wondering if anyone on here works for the Sytner group or has ever worked for the Sytner group.

Today I had an assessment day where 10 of us turned up applying for the role of 'Product Genius". It went great, without a hiccup for me throughout my individual role play and group activity tasks.

I actually ended up talking to the Dealership Principle at the end individually, and was talked into considering another role for the dealership with better pay, just waiting to hear back from him.

I just want to see if any other Sytner employees have any feedback from working there, from what I hear from other people that work elsewhere is that Sytner is an ideal place to work at dealership level.

The Sytner Group Ltd is a car dealership group headquartered in Leicester, United Kingdom. The group comprises over 140 car dealerships located in England, Scotland and Wales. The group is wholly owned by the U.S. firm Penske Automotive Group, a NYSE listed part owned division of Penske Corporation. Sytner is the UK's leading provider of prestige and specialist vehicles.

For anyone else that didn't know what this was.

Over there...
my experience is only as a customer for the BMW site, and that experience was very poor. Delays, mis-communication, invoicing for incorrect work, you name, they pulled it out their asses.

So you applied for a client services type role and you might consider becoming a sales person instead or something?

Don't know anything about the company but the idea of a role which in which you're supposed to learn a lot of boring details so the important revenue generating employees don't have to bother sounds like a **** job regardless of the 'genius' title.

Sales skills are probably better to acquire as a general skill set than the various obscure knowledge about different BMW models which is not only of naff all use at future employers but also goes out of date fairly quickly. Sales skills = transferable and useful to have if you're any good at it.

More likely it is so when the customer comes back in to see how to use a feature on the car, the salesperson doesn't get tied up showing them when they should be using their time either selling or prospecting for business to bring in money to the dealership i.e. what they are paid for.
