Test messaging problem- Network or Phone?

Hi

I've got an annoying problem with my phone at the moment, its been happening for a few weeks now.
Basically only half of my texts get sent, the rest get received hours later even though i know the person that i send them to has their phone on!

Is this a phone problem or a network one?

The phone - Samsung E900
Network - Vodafone (contract)

Are you able to try the sim in another phone?

ring voda and ask them? they will be able to rule out network for you.

I find samsung phones give crap signal, that could be it.
