The Expendables

I saw this yesterday after wanting to watch it for quite while.

It was a big disappointment mainly because the main action was set at night. It just didn't work. CGI was cringworthy as well.

Jason Statham and Rourke were the plus points. Best scene was when Statham kicked the **** out of the guys on the basketball court.

Not a patch on something like Commando. That remains the benchmark of a cheesy action film!

Have you seen Machete? I'd definitely give that a go.

Expendables is a truly rubbish film, awful plot and even worse dialogue, they didn't use Arnie or Willis half as well as they should have in that cameo either as it pretty much rules both out from playing any action role in any sequels

Not in the slightest, could have Arnie hooking up with Sly as a two team attack, or even better as a competition between the two (with Willis setting both up).

Personally I can't wait for the second one. Yes it's not the best film ever but it's a refreshing backtrack to the older style action film (just sort the CGI out next time).

It took itself far too seriously, I thought.

Machete done exactly what The Expendables should have done.
