I try not to spend more than £500. £200-£250 for the cpu/mobo/ram, and whatever's left on whatever's left
That's not including a monitor, ofc.
That's what I'd call mid-range. £700 is pushing it to be called mid-range, you might as well call that the beginning of enthusiast territory, since you can get 2 or 3 gaming consoles for that price.
I would say the perfect gaming rig budget is £1500. It is expensive but if you save up it will be all worth it, plus £1500 does go far today in terms of future proofing, potentially a 1,5k pc can last you 1- 1.5 years without any GPU upgrades
well so far there are 2 main schools of thought - 800 and 1200-1500.
So lets limit it to those two at the moment and compare what the more expensive one will give you the cheaper one wont!
I would say it would last a lot longer than 1-1.5 years depending on how fps crazy you are, if you absolutely must have the highest quality with the best fps sure, but if you happy with still decent quality they can last a lot longer.
Hell i paid 1k for my old PC in 2006, 8800GTX and stuff and it happily lasted and played all the games i wanted until about 1 month ago
But for me, the perfect PC budget would be between 1.2k-1.5k depending if you opt for AMD or Intel
