Interesting bad. If a program wants elevated privileges the UAC prompt doesn't appear and I just get a screen with the desktop background.

Anyone had any word when the pre orders for the 2080ti Strix will be fulfilled?

Even at £650 we would still think they where jacking prices on the 2080.

As it is just equalling last years ti but instead of being cheaper it's the same!

I would say the new technology within the cards would certainly warrant a price increase if it was being utilised... but it's not and the current performance offers nothing meaningful over a 1080Ti. Going forwards, that may always be the case, but we just don't know yet. It's going to be a permanent stain on Nvidia's record if the 20xx remains a lame duck in respect to all the RTX features it has promised. I don't see them suffering financially, but Jensen is never going to be taken at his word again if that is how it turns out.
