thermal compound plus ram = ?

I was just wondering, does putting thermal compound between your ram and heat spreaders make any difference to temperature?

It would be better to just take the heatspreaders off, they don't do anything anyway

Yep, heatspreaders are just for show really. It makes the more expensive sticks stand out from the cheaper models & not much else.
