Dont get so defensive about it! :p :)
Two SLI GTX was an option I was looking into.
If you read the latest post that I made I have decided not to get another 7900 GTX as its just not worth it.

I have already stated that that the x1900 is a great card but after first hand exoerience I went back to my GTX for the reasons mentioned.

All of which are valid and true.

Are you still yapping on about Nvidia, even after the thread that Marshy started directly aimed at yourself and a few others?

Are you even surprised? I still shake my head in wonder sometimes when I come into this section and find him having EXACTLY the same argument with almost exactly the same words... his posts are so similar from thread to thread its a wonder he doesn't get bored of writing them. Check his previous post history and you'll see what I mean... all very, very similar. :D

Not the 7900 GTX but the X1900 at £280 the BEST card at this price is the ATI x1900 :D

Wow, that was childish. Get over yourself.

There was no reason to bring me into your pitiful flame, and the guy was obviously joking affectionately.

Just for the record, im 70 % surely admire the X1900 (XT version), However, the 7900GTX offers almost same option as the X1900 and do not lose my SLI path which i do not think it is not very important.

And i am still deciding... Monday 15 May 15:00 is my dateline... jeezz clock is ticking and i just can not decide... how frustrate this can be

If your not bothered about SLi then go for the x1900 XT, its cheaper than the GTX as its only £281, and allows you to run AA+HDR at the same time, thats if your not concerned about more heat, using more power etc..., if you are then go for the GTX, but they both perform on par, so either would be a cracker. :)

I am just wonder which game do X1900xt offer HDR and AA that the 7900gxt wont. So links might might me reveal the true benefit of 1900xt over the 7900gtx

less than 24 to go now... tick tick tick

So far The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Far Cry allow Shader Model 3.0 HDR+AA on X1800/X1900 series graphics cards. ATi and Crytek have shown that this feature can be patched into existing games, and developers releasing games in the near future will no doubt be taking advantage of this feature too.

It seems like my time is running out soon. I hv been studying the benefit of the x1900xt and the 7900gtx. They seem to be par and anyone should be ok. However, for the overclocking potentail i think 7900gtx is better buy.

Now here is my problem, i only play game at 1240x1024 (vp191s 19"). i dont think i would get the most of those 2 cards. Should i be better off with 7900gt or 1800xt256?

ps: will these 7900gt and x1800xt be able to handle oblivion at high setting?

clock still ticking.......................

7900GTX comment

However, overclocking it was not easy. We only managed to overclock the core by 52MHz and the memory by 100MHz. While there's overclocking potential, you will need to keep this beast really cool to properly realize its full clock speed potential.

Dunno CCC isn't installed, but with the V900 when I did have CCC installed idle was 34-36 (stock 38) load around 65-70. Bit difficult to test because can't be tested and kept on screen in Windows, unlike CPU burn. Also tested a few hours apart so ambiant could be different.

What is Oblivion performance with 7900GTX? I wouldn't use AA, at 1680x1050 jaggies aren't too obvious except in Llewyn town (loads of houses with steps) just use HDR.

Time has ended.... Here is my decision

I decide to get X1900XT connect 3D and VF900 (just to shut the x1900 up).
I relise it is abit overkill spec but at least im quite sure it is a well spend up to my satisification.

It has been a very difficult choice. I also would like to declare the end of my SLI path.

Thanks all for the comments
