It's cheese, what do you expect? I assume the smell is caused by the chemical in rennet, that stuff they scrape from the lining of a cows stomach, which is present in cheese and vomit. Although, this is an old discussion.

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhh

This is pretty much the single foodstuff I cannot stomach, despise the stuff. Crazy thing is, Macaroni Cheese proper is well nice, but this satanly concotion is utterly unpalatable. Ugh!

I used to enjoy the tinned stuff, but no longer. One day I had some and just realised how foul it was and deceided 'never again'.

Now I make it to the following recipe myself (for 3 people):

Melt 75g butter in a pan
Add 75g flour and mix
Cook for 1 minute
Slowly add 650ml of milk
Cook sauce for approx 5 minutes
Add 200g cheese (I use strong chedder and sometimes mix in a little feta)
Add a little cayenne pepper
Add some cooked bacon (cut up into little pieces) or sausage meat
Then stir in some pasta that has been cooked for a minute or so less than it says on the bag.
Grate some cheese over the top and stick in a 200 C oven for 15-20minutes whilst you clear up.

Jobs a goodun.

200g of cheese isn't a lot, which means tiny meal (dry pasta) I'd say feeds one. I think mum adds a couple of beaten eggs to thicken it up.
