I'm quite happily running a 3900x, 64 gig 3600 Mhz corsair ram, 500 gig 970 pro nvme m.2, 2 x 2 tb sata ssd's and a RTX3080 on my B450 tomahawk max.
I was gifted a B550 Tomahawk Max for Christmas. I'm fully aware of its newer specifications and tech bumb and that. I do intend to aquire a 5900x when they are cheaper & in stock.
I'm getting quite lazy (covid lazy) and I don't believe I'd see any benefit from swapping the motherboard now for pcie 4 and better vrm right now.
Do I wait till say late autumn and move it all about when I get a 5900x or use the B550 now because I have it unused.
First world problem I know. Anyone seen any worthy benefits from going b450 to b550 using said 3900x. Can't see the 3080 getting much more fps or the ryzen getting more mhz (happily boosts on pbo to expected speed) and in a lovely well ventilated case on the tomahawk max b450
Thx.
