ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft RC!!!

This is the best linux I have ever used. I installed it, ran the updates, installed network manager and my intel 3945abg wireless card worked straight away with my WPA2 encrypted network!

Looks quite polished too, the new boot screen is very smart.

Haven't used Edgy yet but Dapper is the best desktop Linux I've ever used so I'm happy to hear they're still finding ways to improve it!

I've not installed edgy yet - just dapper server 64bit.

I tried Edgy, but I changed xorg.conf to add Forwards+Backwards mouse buttons for Firefox, restarted, it just got stuck on the brown screen and I couldn't get it to work after that

I will try again when the proper version comes out next week

Im waiting till next week before I try edgy. I hear quite a few people are having problems upgrading from dapper to edgy, so not really relishing the prospect of a fresh install

couple of gripes.

they removed vim, regular vi is pants - you have to symlink about to get it back
they've removed the sh shell and use dash instead - breaks a few scripts - again, more fiddlepotting to get it to work

other than that, i like it
