Ubuntu install problems

    Hi, im trying to install Ubuntu on a 900mhz athlon, asus board, and 128meg ram, 10gig HD, it always hangs at 79% - install main kernal section, any ideas?

    I had a similar problem a few years ago with gentoo stage1 :( people said it might have been my cpu etc, but it turned out to be bad media :)

    was a bit annoying getting half way thru a stage1 install and having to start again tho :(

    Try reburning at a lower speed.

    i had a problem with ubuntu earlier (hope you don't mine me bringing it up in here)...after it installed ok it'd fail to launch the gui because it was supposidly not setup correctly...which meant i was stuck with text only mode :(

    further problems have left me with 'half' a system...link (and the windows forum...as usual is no help...cose unlike here no1 seems to actually help!)
