UK iPhone 4S in the USA

Hey guys,

tried googling this but no hope! Anyway, I have a bog standard vodafone iphone 4S which I am going to get unlocked by vodafone (is there any benefit by going to Apple to do this? It only seems to be more expensive?) I am going to the states for a couple of weeks and wish to have a phone and have internet access on the phone. I will be in the denver area so are there any preferred networks? Ideally, i would like to get off the plane, walk into a phone store and pop in a microsim and it works!

AT&T are a GSM provider. Probably others as well.

iPhone 4S is a quadband phone and so should be fine.

Apple don't unlock phones

so that way you can only go to Vodafone. As to the sim, I'm not 100% sure.

Hey guys,

thanks for the responses! I will get it unlocked by vodafone before I go and it seems that T-mobile seem to be the way to go as their website is a lot more easier to navigate for prepaid sims as they call them. I may just end up asking for a prepay iPad micro sim and just use the phone for data! Hopefully it will be easy for the sales people to grasp why I am doing this!
