@Plec of OP 6c/12t intel is clocked to 4.5ghz or higher, would wait for Zen3 news as would just match 3700x performance or best it with CPU limited games
AH, I understand your previous post now - my brain was stuck on new release 6C/12t and I hadn't looked at OP's original CPU since his opening post, and i thought you were still addressing me - which is where my confusion came from.

Zen 3 has already been suggested - Post #2 and #3 - and he is waiting for zen 3 release after advice. So, he'll have chance to compare after reviews.

EDIT: @orbitalwalsh - sorry bud, misunderstood your first post and continued into this one - edited for clarity. Only realised we were talking about two different things once i had finished all my work and re-read replies.

It'll run at 5.2GHz but I never do... It's all under water as is the board.

Main reason I want to update thought is 1) for M.2 and 2) to let whatever my next card is stretch it's legs.

got the money then X570 Master and knock yourself out with mono block and pcie 4.0 for RTX 4*** Cards that should effect pcie 3.0 connection .
want to save £100 then B550 Master, connection between chipset and cpu is only 3.0 unlike x570 being 4.0 but beats X570 Master and X570 Tomahawk for design ... give you a hint at what x670 boards will look like... which is easy enough to do, check out Aorus z490 baords and just replace wiith x670 chipset :D

OK so a few YT reviews later, seems the B550 might not be the best setup for longevity... The x570 on the other hand.
When are x670s due?

Crucial - much better value and the timings are only marginally lower, plus the extra 16GB will serve you far better than slightly better timings - and very good value for 32GB set (no discernible performance difference). Serial/model number BL2K16G36C16U4B (Comes in 3 colours - change last letter to W, B or R)

None in stock anywhere.
Anything else comparable spec/price?

So,
What would you change?
Ready to slot a 5800x into.
2 main apprehensions. 32gb higher timings kit vs 16Gb with tighter timings... Also. is x670 actually going to drop any time soon?
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £540.02 (includes shipping: £11.10)
