Hi there,

I'm looking to upgrade my current build to include a 2tb ssd and a second gtx 1080ti. I was hoping to get some advice as to whether my power supply/motherboard etc are adequate to support this. Completely out of my depth when it comes to hardware and hesitant to spend money before I know what i'm doing so any advice is very much appreciated.

Here is my build:

Intel Core i9-7690X Processor (22MB Cache, up to 4.2GHz)
MSI X299 SLI PLUS Motherboard
32 GB 2133MHz DDR4 HyperX FURY (4x 8GB)
Samsung 500GB 960 EVO NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
Samsung 250GB 960 EVO NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD
Seasgate Barracuda 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB PCI Express Graphics
850 Watt 80 Plus Power Supply

Many thanks,
H

Primarily Redshift for Cinema4D, although I will still use Physical I imagine for some things which is cpu, but looking to try and jump over to gpu rendering for as much as possible.

The cost of a 1080 ti has gone through the roof as they are now discontinued. You don't want to be paying £899.99 for one :(

You can still pick up a Zotac Mini 1080 ti for around £650 if you google. Not the best option but certainly better than paying £900.
