Upgrade Assistance Please

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to give my PC a cheap boost, I would like to be able to play the latest games with good framerates. Posting in this sub section as unsure if this is specific to one topic!

Currently, I have the below spec:

Intel i7 920 D0 @ 3.4GHz (Won't really clock higher anymore, although used to run all day long at 4.2GHz).
6GB Patriot Viper @ 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 2T
Gigabyte EX58-UD5
2x Gigabyte GTX 260s (216s) in SLI @ 650MHz/1450MHz/1000MHz
Games installed on 1TB 7200rpm HDD
NEC 24WMGX3

Can I get away with just replacing the GPUs, or will newer GPUs be bottlenecked too much by the rest of the system?

My first thought is get those two 260s swapped out for a more powerful single card.

Your CPU/RAM is fine.

What PSU+case do you have?

Do you have a SSD?

Actually I have also answered in the other thread and think its just a GFX card you need.

So will close this thread and just use your other one.
