How does this sound for an upgrade for my existing Opteron 165 running at 2700?

I have two Ati x1800xt's in Crossfire so will use them. I'll have to get a SATA optical drive as one of hdd's is IDE.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail £73.99 (£86.94)
Gigabyte GA_P35_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £119.99 (£140.99)
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit £99.99 (£117.49)

I thought a E4400 for the higher multiplier? Obviously I'll be overclocking...

So, a worthwhile upgrade?

I'd have to ask if your current system does everything you want it to acceptably? If it does then no upgrade is really worthwhile but if not then that system should allow a fair bit of overclocking.

I'd probably pick PC6400 or maybe even the Crucial Ballistix PC5300C3 but only if it still uses the same Micron chips as before - if it does then it should be able to clock to PC8500 speeds and is significantly cheaper. :)
