Hi all, just got a promotion and going to treat myself to an upgrade. Current spec runs great, but I'm keen to move to a M2 SSD. PC is for gaming and general office use.

Current
i7 3770
Asus P8Z77-V LX Socket 1155
16gb DDR3 1600mhz
GTX 970
Samsung 850 Pro 512gb SATA SSD

Thinking on hanging onto the 970 for now and replacing the rest with:

i7 8700K
Asus Prime Z370-P
16gb DDR4
Samsung 960 Pro M2 512gb

I'm not sure what ram to go for. I don't overclock so just looking for quality and value. Any suggestions? Is it worth getting 32gb or is that overkill?

Not sure if there's any benefit in going for a more expensive motherboard? I don't need wifi or leds or surround sound, again just stability and vfm.

Ta :)

@Von Luck

all you need personally.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £669.48 (includes shipping: £10.50)

finally was able to quote a system that actually needed nvme m.2 drive for 3D Mapping software that pulls 2000+ 32MP photos to the program , with gaming, you wont see the benefits at all! with games now on average 40GB - rather have SSD SATA 3 with large storage space
