Im looking to upgrade my cpu, mobo and gfx, but not sure which route to go. im confused about the difference between 939, AM2, dual core etc. I want to stick with AMD, and want something that will last for a while, at least a week or two :) I play a lot of CSS and BF, and other stuff and do some multi tasking stuff. I have a budget of £450 for the 3 items, and will prob keep my ram for a while, unless you all recommend ddr2? what you suggest? My system is below

    Asus an8xe deluxe mobo
    Athlon 2400 cpu
    Radeon 9800 pro
    1 gig of kingston pc3200
    nexus 400w psu

    thanks in advance

i had the same issue as your self and went for the asrock dual sata(pcie and agp ports),amd 3700 and 2gb of pc 3200 ram, kept my 9700 pro until i could afford a better card, this gives you the upgrade route without splashing all the cash at once
the 939 prices are the lowest ever at the minute due to them being phased out

I would get a Intel Conroe. I know you said you want AMD but these new intel cpus are faster. Most mobos for this will only support DDR2 so you would need new ram as well.
This spec is a bit over the budget but it's worth it.

thanks guys. so the conroe is gonna be a better system than going AM2 4200 dual? Also the Asus P5VD2-MX Micro ATX, seems like a real bargain, is it any good? especially when all other conroe baords are 3 times as much!
