Hey guys

Quick question, maybe a slightly longer answer needed.
Running I7 4790k with 1070 ti , motherboard MSI Z97-G45 GAMING, iNTEL Z97
My memory is now DD3 1600 crucial ballistix DDR3-1600, CL9-9-9-24 .

Would upgrading to G.Skill 16 GB DDR3-2400 Kit CL10 12-12-31 be an improvement of some sort?
Read some things about this, but a lot of different topics on this and a lot of different answers.

The upgrade would cost me around 120 euro. Do or don't?

Any thaughts??

THANks!

Save your money. It makes hardly any difference on the Haswell platform. Have a read of this article which compares speeds from DDR3 1600mhz to DDR3 2400mhz. It's the jump to a modern platform with DDR4 where memory speed can make a big difference. From Kabylake onwards fast memory can give a boost of up to 20% in some games and for Ryzen DDR4 3000mhz and over is a must have.

wont see a big difference. switching to ddr4 however would have quite a large impact on the performance of your pc.
Ok , i will keep that in mind. :)
Thing is , i'm still pretty pleased with my setup now, and changing the RAM to DDR4 would result into changing motherboard en processor.
And i don't have the money for those kind of changes ,, unfortunatly
