Hi guys, girls.

I'm looking for some advice and opinions please.

I currently use a MIFI for my internet when out with work, this has my laptop connected to it along with mobile printer and mobile phone. The existing mifi is connected to a GiNET GL-MT300 router that is in repeater mode, the GiNet is setup with openVPN configuration back to the office, the devices when outside office connect to the GiNET (back to office via the VPN)

My question is, I have a spare NOTE 8 mobile phone, i was wondering if this would be a better alternative to use that as a HOTSPOT only device, no calls would be taken on it and number used for data only.

This gives me the advantage of tasker installed on the note 8, set to give messages via text to my mobile when battery is at a certain %. Plus also the ability to turn off the HOTSPOT when within range of the office, as i keep forgetting to turn the mifi off when in the office WIfi range. I can root the note 8 to allow more flexibility.

Plus any other cool stuff you can think off.
