Video Capture

    Can anyone tell me any decent (preferably Free) programs I can capture a video with, from say google video etc.

    I need to be able to import a video into a powerpoint presentation. Thanks in advance.

    with google video there is a download link at the side of the page.... :confused:

    infact most video embedded in pages can simply be downloaded. :)

    You can't import the google video format into powerpoint.

    oops.... :p

    didn't realise they were using their own proprietary format. i guess windows media encoder could record your desktop but the quality would be horrible.... :(

    you could do a TV-out into your TV capture card and record it that way. Probably pap quality though.

    Alternatively depending how long the vid is and how masochistic you are feeling you could screen grab the video frame at a time and then use something like bmp2avi to join it back into a movie :)

    camtasia has a 30-day trial if thats any good, you can select a specific region, the whole screen or a certain window to record
