Hi guys, recently I got my hands on my younger brothers old PC as he's upgraded to a full blown custom gaming PC. I'm usually a console gamer but want to get into PC gaming as there are several games I like that are only on PC such as Rust. The PC I have is just about capable of running Rust on minimum settings but it would be great if I could run it at 60 fps on medium settings. The PC I have currently is a Lenovo model but not sure which. I also don't know what graphics card it uses. However I do know it has an Intel Core i3-3220 CPU and 8GB of RAM, also it runs on a version of Windows 8. Basically I'm a university student on a budget and apart from the RAM I'm pretty sure most things need upgrading. I'd realistically only really be able to spend a max of around 500 Pounds ($600ish). Any help/suggestions on what to buy or do first would be great!

2nd hand i5-3570
GTX 1050 ti

Will need to check the PSU as that might need upgrading

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me will come along and say daft idea anytime soon.

Making a huge assumption current case is ATX and drives are Sata and reusable

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £528.06 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Drop the ram down to 8GB and upgrade the psu as well.

Could save £40 dropping the CPU down to R3 1200 and clocking it I suspect.

Don’t forget you’ll need to buy windows
