That's a fairly desirable car though even if it is old, and extremely low mileage. If you think about it, there will be a chain reaction whereby if newer cars increase in value, then it creates a gap where people can charge more for the older cars. A lot of cars previously worth £4.5k will presumably have moved up to make way.

Very interesting.

Our F15 X5 is currently worth £500 more than payed for it from BMW Used. It's a cracking car and there's nothing else we'd want to change to, but it's nice to know we could make some cash back quick and not be destroyed from the privilege.

It would be ease of selling plus they may have got not much less. A lot less hassle as well. Go along and money in your account that day.

They are offering close to £33,000 for mine with 1700 miles on the clock, so if it was a low miler maybe WBAC gave them more, but yes privately they seem to swapping hands around 34-37k dependent on miles.

Rumour is once the Corolla goes into production, that is the end of the GR Yaris for our market. If true the values could jump even higher if Toyota stick with the 25,000 world production figure.

Interestingly just had a couple of messages from dealers I use regularly saying they are interested in buying "any" vehicles especially light commercial vehicles and pointing me to a CAP valuation page. Citing they have buyers lined up :s they must be smelling profit in the current situation.

How unusual for a business in the trade of buying and selling vehicles to be sensing profit opportunities in buying and selling vehicles.

It is somewhat unusual in that neither of these have engaged in general car purchasing before, only px and even then not just any old vehicle.

They are traders - of course they have. They wouldn't get enough stock to turn over if they relied only on Part exchanges.

They are branded dealers mostly do new stock, they've never previously solicited for any old used vehicles WBAC style.

EDIT: Sure I get similar from the indy places from time to time but not very usual from the specialists.

Well if you are a van dealer, pretty much all new vans ordered are for delivery next Feb/march and surprise surprise there are lots of businesses out there who dont want to wait that long and are desperate for good used vans now.

The dealers dont have anything else to do as they cant sell anymore new ones than they have already sold.

This makes me nervous. Any rumours as to when the Corolla might be going into production?

It looks more aimed at the US market where they couldn't sell the Yaris.

Yaris is always going to be quicker with equal tunes and more fun. Same engine but the corolla is bigger and heavier.

It is a good point - availability at most of these places for new commercial stock currently is showing September or 2022.
