is it worth the £10 difference for 6GB/s and 32MB extra cache? and will the SATA 6Gb/s be faster? ive had a look around the web and a few graphs in reviews show the SATA 3GB/s controller is actually faster. is this true?

please could you tell me which will give me best performance.

    thanks,

    Jake

www.xbitlabs.com had a 1tb roundup with I believe both types of black harddrive.

Just click on the storage tab along the top.

The Xbitlabs review mentions different model codes, but doesn't say anything specifically about it being one of the 6Gb/s drives?

The Xbitlabs review I can see shows two different revisions of the older WD1001FALS and doesn't mention the newer WD1002FAEX.
