I really like the look of that R32 in the picture. Looks nice.

I agree does seem Odd to slate the R32 and own a GTI-R. They are both effectively the same car.

The R32 won everything and was certainly a car with a very good racing pedigree, you don't buy a R32 GTR for the way it looks, you buy it for the performance. Much in the same way as you buy a GTi-R which is possibly the ugliest car ever made :p

The R34 is the car for bling boys who wanna look good, R32 is for people who want to use the car.

Looks-wise it is ;)

All the cars mentioned are different under the skin, but that doesn't change the fact that if we're talking about looks, then they are all very much along the same lines.

Hahahaha...You do know about the Skyline's racing history, right?

It won at Bathurst so they changed the rules and made it run heavier.

It won the next year so they changed the rules and made it run heavier.

It won the next year so they changed the rules and banned it.

So your reason for the GTI-R being exempt from the 'old Japanese car' slating is it's motorsport 'pedigree' but the R32, with a more distinguished race history than the Sunny/Pulsar is slated...Riiiiiiight...

It didnt really have to best competition now did it ;)
They raced against Commodores and Falcons. Of cause a Jap car is going to win, they are better built and i think commodores and falcon had the same style suspension as American cars do

I think the only skyline i've liked is an R33 you posted ages ago. A heavily modded black one. Maybe it caught fire at a track day? Can't really remember. It looked nice though.

Yeah that was my mate's car, it slid into the infield at Combe, then the tinder-dry straw caught fire :( It was a real shame as it was easily the most stunning R33 I've seen.

It's currently being rebuilt and completely transformed.

It was also racing against M3s and the Sierra Cosworth. The Cossies were pushing close to 600bhp at the end of their time of racing in Oz (as they continued racing for longer than Europe the engines were even further developed). The Skylines still won despite being forced to carry a shedload of ballast and having their power restricted.

As above...It really was a case of "We can't beat them...so We'll ban them."

I'm not the biggest Skyline fan but I have to say the R32 is much nicer looking car than the R33 or R34, it looks much sleeker and more well proportioned, kind of daintier, the R33 and R34 look too wide-boy and over the top for my tastes, they've lost the classic understated look the R32 had.

Im guna go against the grain here and say the r34 is pure sex, and is the most bruteish looking car and also the nicest.

The R34 GTR may look brutish, but it also looks like a messy caricature of itself. And in non GTR form it just looks crap.
