At the moment I have cpu speed at x11.5 multipliyer and mem is at 242 bus speed, timings are 2.5-3-3-3 1T. so my cpu running at 2.78gh

I have a FX55 cpu(see in sig), bare it mind the cpu wont overclock any higher ther 2.78. What mem should I get and will I be able to push the mem any higher then 242 and lower the cpu speed to keep it at 2.78'?

GSkill/Mushkin PC4000 would suit you nicely.

At the moment my cpu is at 242 x 11.5 = 2.783 actual cpu speed

But want cpu running at 265 x 10.5 = 2.782.5 actual cpu speed

So what sort of memory would give me 265 at 2.5-3-3-8 1T? Remember I cant get the cpu any faster then 2.783, and will my motherboard take higher mem then 3200?

The PC4000 kits will do 265Mhz with some tweaking, but not at those timings you want I wouldn't have thought.

You could just use a divider, and some decent PC3200 with tight timings.Using a divider is fine on A64, especially as you're using half multis, which aren't ideal anyway as your memory will be running asynchronously even if you set the divider to 1:1.
