Just rang O2 to leave for Orange (genuinely this time!), and the guy made me a new offer..

I'm currently on 100 minutes anytime for £19 a month.
Was going to switch to Orange for £25 a month (100 minutes anytime + 150 minutes landline calls) plus free D900, and he made me this offer:

500 minutes Anytime, 500 texts for £20 a month and a D900 for £59.99!!

Yes I'm effectively paying £25 a month once the phone cost is included, but 500minutes! Just depends who you talk to I guess. Because the woman I spoke to this morning wouldn't give me anything. Maybe they have software that detected that I really was willing to leave this time :p

It seems to be there standard deal when you want to leave, 500 mins / 500 texts for £20 a month, then extra for the phones.

I just prefered the 3 deal myself.

I think the d900 will get you the most profit...the k800 and d900 when i last checked were going for £220 - £270 but i think the d900 will go for slightly more than the k800...when i called i had to make a split second decision and just opted for one of the free fones...im quite happy i made a £155 profit on it lol. Have a check on ebay for the k610 becuase it is 3G it might fetch more. Sorry i cant be more precise.

Ive been offered the E900 for £30 when it comes back in stock. Will probably go for that and sell it on ebay

nice thread and comments guys. My upgrade will be up soon in december and will try some of the tactics mentioned. Hopefully some nicer phones be out then. Not many phones at the moment that I like. The E900 is nice though.

Ok folks :)

My upgrade is in about 3 weeks time :D

currently (for 2.5 years now) been on 500 Off Peak Mins + 500 Text Online for £20, plus £5 insurance - my bills normally float around the £40-60 mark however.

So id rather switch too 500 Anytime mins at least, but not pay for then £20 line rental.

I Currently have a w800i (though i dont really use the walkman feature i stick with my iRiver) - so really looking for a new phone, and i have to say i love the SE range, so whats due out soon/out that you recommend (i do like the k800i but would prefer something that not everybody has)

Called O2 up today about SE P990i, I have been waiting for this one for ages, was told that I will get this phone for £149 (I'm on a £30 p/m contract). That's without threatening of leaving :D so I hope I would get even a much better deal when upgrade next month. This one will be in stock on 11 of Sep. :p
Can't wait, I'm sicked of my massive Exec :o

anyone got a decent deals on a k800i recently. I see it's now free for new customers on o2 website..

I think it is still around £70-£80 for online customers on upgrade unless you are a big spender. I was told it should come down in price when the W850i comes out end of september time

... O2 came back with this deal

New Deal: (12 month contract)
K800i + 500 mins + 500 text @ £20 p/m & £29.99 for the phone
W810i + 500 mins + 500 text @ £20 p/m

Pretty damn good offer so I accepted :D All those big phone bills must have made O2 want to keep me...
Got my first new bill the other day, no idea how they worked it out but both said £13 + VAT = £15.25

so I paid £30.50 for 2 new phones (1x k800i & 1x W810i) both with 500 mins and 500 texts. I don't understand... but I'm not complaining :D
