At the time and indeed on review took that to mean they were launching guided bombs, but now I think about it....
Yup, that is ******* retarded too.
Off for a few ‘parsecs’ to think about stuff.

Truely none of them hold up, four is much loved because we were kids and it was fresh, five was better, but none of them are overly good.

i hate to be THAT nerd, but on the tie bomber they are more like photon torpedoes that are fired towards the ground - they were never free falling bombs. They weren't that stupid even in 1980.

Ghostland (Incident in a) - from the guy who made Martyrs which for me is one of the best horrors of the 21st century. This isn't quite as harrowing but it's pretty close, brutal, despairing and utterly horrific in parts. It's no gore torture porn movie which is to it's strength but it doesn't hold back on the subject matter. - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6195094/

The Domestics - One of the better end of the world style movies i've seen in ages, crazy violent, coherent story, lots of twisted fun - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5591666/

I watched The Terminator (1984), I always used to prefer this over T2 because it felt more original, there was something raw about it. I must say, it looked very dated now but still enjoyable, I've yet to watch the end though, started falling asleep so didn't see it to the end.
I can't remember the last time I saw this, must be nearly 10 years ago, brought back some fond memories anyway.

Think I rated this one a few pages back. Worth it for the 80's vibe alone.

Definitely got full on Miyazaki vibes from it, but it also seemed a bit flat and rushed. Some lovely trippy bits, but not something I would watch again, and pales in comparison to the Miyazaki classics.

6/10

I Feel Pretty

Sort of a reverse Shallow Hal, but ultimately pretty meh. I don't recall laughing, and the 'message' of the film kinda gets lost when "being confident even if you aren't pretty" resulted in her becoming a bit of a bitch.

4/10

Set It Up

Does it follow a structure straight out of Rom-Com 101? Yep.
But I'll be damned if it doesn't have some likable leads and clever writing. I actually lol'd a few times, more than I can say for many recent dedicated comedies. Plus, Titus Andromedon always gets a point from me :D

How It Ends on Netflix - A pretty awful film in my opinion. The story was severely lackluster, split into two parts there was some interest about 'the event' however it was never cleared up and seemed to flick between possible scenarios a number of times. The other part of the story about the journey was terrible and unoriginal. It wasn't gripping or engaging, the action scenes were very average and then to top it off it ends at a terrible point with no explanation or anything. It gets a couple of points because some of the shots during the film were visually very good. I haven't been this disappointed in a film in a while. 2/10

Geostorm - Not much to say about it really. It was ok, I didn't mind watching it but it wasn't particularly gripping or exciting. 5/10

Hotel Artemis (2018) - 6/10

A stylish action thriller with a good cast of characters and brutal fight scenes.

The setting is ok, but the story struggles to find its footing and is quite predictable, although it does have some witty moments.

I watched this the other day and liked it a lot. However, my judgement may have been skewed by me sitting in the boiling hot sun drinking all day.

It was the first time I've ever seen Spock playing someone who isn't Spock and the moustache was a funny addition. I do wonder if he actually got paid anything for such a meaningless role though. :p

Incredibles 2 - 6/10

Was ok, didn't think it was as good as the first, but the people I went with enjoyed it and the general reaction from the audience seemed very positive.

You should try American Horror story, he was good in that.

The Red Turtle - added this to my list a while back on a recommendation from this thread and watched it last night. Amazing! So quiet, peaceful and moving, a lovely piece of animation. Currently on Amazon Prime if anyone is looking and at only 80 minutes it flies by, first film I can remember with no dialogue! 4/5

Wuuut, Achilles was far better in that film! It actually gave me an irrational dislike of Orlando bloom lol

I also got an irrational dislike but for Brad Pitt, I am sure it was on purpose but the way he played Achilles was like a Man Child, broody and moody chucking his toys out his pram over the slightest thing and generally being unlikable.

Put me right off! lol

Hector on the other hand (played by Eric Bana) was a mature level headed warrior with skill in strategy and Wisdom beyond his years... he should have won.

I know the movie is not very close to the actual story and a lot was left out but the way it played out in the movie just left me with a bad taste in my mouth, if the King of Troy had listened to Hector through the whole war instead of the stupid holy man and other idiots then the Trojans would have won with ease!

Also the one time Paris (played by Orlando Bloom) actually says something wise "We should burn it" referring to the wooden horse again the King listens to the stupid holy man and again it all goes **** up!
