Previously never changed anything on a car but only today have I had some bits done but not quite sure I could handle the abuse on here…

I already know what people think to Gloss Black bits in place of OEM chrome bits :D

Never really went mad, changed wheels, exhaust, intake and fitted S2000 seats on my CRX Del Sol SiR. Fitted alloys to EP3 Civic Type R. Worst one was probably cheap coilovers on Octavia vRS, smooth road they handled great but any bumps at all they were bone shatteringly hard.

Twelve years ago I thought I was the don for running Czech dealer number plate surrounds and pressed metal plates. I also thought the stick on 'carbon fibre' vRS wheel centre caps were a good replacement for the trashed OEM ones :o

To be fair, I still like the pressed metal plates :D

Almost all the mods I've undone have been primarily cosmetic,
whereas those which offer a tangible benefit are the ones that stick.
So that would be my advice - ignore the bling,
focus on what practical benefit it brings.
That's almost a rhyming verse...!

TBH, half the cars that people mod already start out looking ugly, so sticking minor changes on like mini spoilers and wing extensions don't really stand out as making it any worse!
The worst I've done is stick a CB antenna on a car, but that still attracted a fair bit of ridicule.
