What's the AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz equivalent to? (Intel)

    Basically, im buying a new pc and it has a AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz.

    Now, I was just wandering, what intel cpu is it equivalent to?

    Probably the tricore 720 BE, will do better than the e8400 in multithreaded games. Does not clock as high on average though.

    Not sure if it helps, but my findings placed the Athlon II X2 250 to be around 13% slower than the Core 2 Duo E8400 overall. I would personally pitch the Athlon II X2 245 as a Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.80GHz chip equivalent.

    It's a well priced CPU and can overclock fairly well, but for the keen tweaker, I would suggest finding the extra £30 for something like an AMD Phenom II X2 550.
