I=No letter I in Russian, although IIRC Ukrainians use it so Kazakhs might too. Think they pronounce it I.
So transliterated it's "Kazakhstan Konyati/Konyagi". Cognac perhaps?
Since you said it smells like brandy, my educated opinion says that it's cognac/brandy
